About The Designer

Interior Design and Architectural Designer - Glennis Anderson A Passion for designing homes and interior spaces of distinction:
For over 18 years, Glennis has been providing the high quality, classic design of new homes, home remodeling design, additions, condominium remodeling and architectural build-outs, patio’s, pergolas and outdoor kitchens, interior architecture, interior design, custom millwork and unique upscale kitchens and baths, libraries and home theaters all with custom turnings, trims and finishes to clients who are exceptionally pleased with her creative work. Her skillful blending of classic architectural elements including shingle-style, cottage-style Adirondack, French, Italian and Spanish Colonial and others provides her clients with a timeless atmosphere whether it is a compound of buildings, a weekend lake home, a primary residence, a kitchen or bath, or a special purpose room. Through the phases of architectural design she assures that the dreams and desires of her clients are met and surpassed.

“My goal for each client is to create a place so in character with their dreams that on the approach to their property, or a special room they experience that sigh as their state of mind adjusts to one of relaxation and the pleasure associated with a vacation home –whether it is a vacation home or not.
- Glennis Anderson

She also puts her interior design background to work for her clients. By placing furniture on the floor plans and elevations during the design development phase, clients can easily visualize the scale of each room and how many people or functions it will accommodate comfortably, eliminating the construction of awkward or unusable square footage. Each client is unique, so each project is unique—especially when it comes to the interior detailing. Whether a project is formal French or lakeshore casual every effort is taken to assure a one of a kind custom look for every detail from crown to base. When a client wants a look that is completely their own Glennis will design the knife profile that cuts the molding which will become the profile on a custom cabinet door. Or design kitchen island legs or a stairway newel post to be custom turned. Your goal is her goal--and getting it right the first time is also.

“I suspect the muse of architecture knows the client as well as it knows the designer entrusted to create for them.”
- Glennis Anderson

Many of her projects are waterfront properties which often allow for a more casual approach to the architecture and interior architecture, kitchens and baths and millwork. Vintage doors and built-ins, antique beams and old wood floors, wood countertops and copper sinks, stone fireplace lintels carved with inscriptions and a floor compass with a client logo in the center are just a few of the interesting details she has designed for clients. She has designed projects for clients in the Spirit Lake and West Lake Okoboji area of Iowa, the White Bear Lake area of Minnesota, on Lake Minnetonka, Lake Calhoun and Rainy Lake in Minnesota, overlooking Lake Superior in Bayfield, Wisconsin.
